Twelve symbolic animals: It is traditional Chinese custom to use one of 12 kinds of animals to represent the year one is born in. twelve years make a cycle. For example, 1980, 1992 and 2004 are all monkey years, therefore any person who born in one of these three years has monkey as his or her zodiac. The order of these 12 kinds of animals is: mouse, ox, tiger, rabbit, dragon, snake, horse, sheep, monkey, rooster, dog and pig.
